» Art Specifications and Guidelines

Artwork requirements:
A digital .eps file (vector based file) is required for laser engraved items. For other items a jpeg at high resolution, or a tiff is required. Please call if you need assistance with these.

Artwork applications:

• Adobe Illustrator (Mac or PC), any version: Please create outlines for all images and fonts and save in EPS format. Call us if assistance is needed.
• Corel Draw (Mac or PC): Create curves for all images and fonts. Save in Adobe Illustrator format.

For laser engraved items, all colors must be black, or spot color.

For all other software, save files as an encapsulated postscript (.eps) file with type converted to curves, paths or outlines (vector art). Such files are generally acceptable as long as the file has been exported as an .eps file and not merely renamed as such. However, departure from the above acceptable applications may result in delays to production schedule.

Office programs (i.e. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, etc.) are not graphics programs and are not acceptable file formats. However, PromotionalKeychains.biz can often alter these formats to meet requirements, but a delay in production schedules may occur in addition to incurring art department charges for very complex artwork. Please call us, or email your art to art@promotionalkeychains.biz and we will be happy to evaluate your art quickly and at no charge.

PDF's may be submitted if the art was created in vector format, and the fonts were converted to curves before saving to PDF format.

Preparation of artwork:

• Please convert all type to outline form or provide Macintosh compatible fonts. Please call if assistance is needed with this.
• Please submit artwork close to the actual imprint size,
• Please compress the file using either Stuffit or Winzip before emailing.

Art department assistance and charges:
Our in-house art department is available at the rate of $35/half hour as needed for complex work needed to make existing electronic files usable. Note there is no guarantee that submitted files will be able to be made usable. We will advise upon inspection. Simple art changes are generally complimentary.

Halftones:
Most halftone artwork is difficult to engrave, because of the various factors that must be considered. Therefore halftones (photographic appearing images) are not accepted for laser engravings.
